Koen S. : Grafvitnir is a ferocious Black Metal band hailing from the dark forests of Sweden, formed in 2007. The band has previously released four full-length albums titled NâHash (2012), Semen Serpentis(2014), Necrosophia (2015), Obeisance To A Witch Moon (2016) and now the successor 'Keys To The Mysteries Beyond' is already there. With five albums in six years, Grafvitnir certainly is a very productive band. The black metal they play is from the melodic kind, but make no mistake, no kidding here, this is an outright assault on your skull and ear drums! Blast beats and non-stop riffing with ultra-brutal vocals that makes almost explode everything is what you get. If you do not pay attention for a second, you might have missed a blissful piece of black metal. Chadwick St. John, the artist who previously designed the artwork for their previous album, but also worked for bands like Arckanum, Svartsyn and Horna, composed the two instrumental songs and who else than Magnus 'Devo' Andersson of Marduk could provide these guys their overwhelming sound? A must for every fan of Dissection to Valkyrja and Naglfar to Dark Funeral. Also the artwork of Daniele Valeriani needs to be mentioned: fantastic work, just like the rest of the album!
